Main Objectives:
As an Airport Duty Officer in Bangkok, your main objective is to oversee various customer handling areas of airport operations, ensuring the highest standard of service while following safe and secure working procedures.
Main Duties:
1. Supervise all customer handling areas including Check➢in, Departure Gate, Transit, and Arrival. Ensure all tasks are carried out accurately and promptly by company staff and Handling Agent Staff to the highest standard.
2. Assign pre-flight duties to staff and conduct debriefings to address any discrepancies.
3. Provide direction to Check-in staff when handling passengers with irregularities or invalid documents.
4. Guide Check-in staff in dealing with excess baggage charges, making decisions regarding charging or waiving fees.
5. Handle Denied Boarding situations, assist check-in staff, and manage passengers. Update SSCI for downgrading or offloading customers.
6. Build and maintain positive working relationships with customs, immigration, security, police, medical, cargo, ground transport, catering, duty-free, courier companies, tour operators, and other airline staff.
7. Ensure that Company and local policies for handling delayed services are followed, and delayed passengers receive proper assistance.
8. Monitor the handling agent's output to meet company standards and contractual agreements.
9. Strictly adhere to company safety and security standards.
10. Ensure compliance with Company Regulations regarding lost/found/damaged baggage and manage time-sensitive matters.
11. Enforce the company uniform policy for staff on shift.
12. Maintain adequate stock levels of stationery and supervise distribution.
13. Provide quality service to V.I.Ps, unaccompanied children, etc., in arrival, departure, and transit areas, coordinating with Lounge staff.
14. Communicate with Duty Manager / Airport Manager to upgrade A/C equipment if necessary.
15. Coordinate with Airport Support Unit/WWCC for VCRS (Virtual Coupon Records) updates in cases of misconnections involving rerouting.
16. Monitor catering figures and update catering units to prevent wastage.
17. Fulfill any other tasks or duties assigned by the Airport Manager.
18. Encourage Ground Handling Agent (GHA) staff to sell ancillaries and generate revenue.
19. Brief the Duty Manager / Airport Manager regarding GHA shortfalls on a daily basis.
20. Monitor ramp activities.
21. Review Ground Safety Reports (GSRs) and discuss with the Airport Manager for appropriate action.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
Qualifications:
Ordinary National Diploma or equivalent.
